This paper deals with a description and presents the results of the calculations of possibilities of the semi-peak operation of a canal regulating water power plant. These plants are of a great significance for the electric system. The largest Slovakian canal regulating water power plant is the Gabčíkovo power plant. The semi-peak operation would represent a compromise between the originally designed peak operation and the basically forced continuous-flow operation, where by the existing state of the waterworks on the Danube River would have to be accepted.Downloads
